Omar El-Qoulaq is an associate attorney at Olson Remcho.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. El-Qoulaq was a staff attorney with Root & Rebound, where his work focused on representing formerly-incarcerated and criminal justice system-impacted individuals in reentry related legal matters. He has traveled across California, providing holistic legal support to indigent communities in both rural and urban areas, and has also engaged in various policy advocacy work on behalf of these communities. During law school, he interned with the Federal Defenders of San Diego and with the White House, in President Obama’s Presidential Personnel Office.
Throughout his second year of law school, Mr. El-Qoulaq was enrolled in the MacArthur Justice Center’s Civil Rights Litigation Clinic, where he was involved in working on consequential civil litigation relating to prisoners’ rights in the State of Illinois. He also worked in the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s Environmental Advocacy Center throughout his third year of law school.
Mr. El-Qoulaq is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.A.), and Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law (J.D.). He was admitted to the California Bar in January 2019. He is bilingual in English and Arabic.
